PPX™ Exosomes — The Next Generation PRP

The human body contains more than 37 trillion cells. These minuscule biological bits must communicate and cooperate for the body to function. They do this through vesicles — tiny bubble-like packages that move messages and matter around in a cell and even from cell to cell.

When a cell releases these vesicles, they are referred to as extracellular vesicles, or EVs for short. Exosomes are a specific type of EV. They carry various biological materials including proteins, lipids, and genetic information like microRNA (miRNA). The primary function of these exosomes/EVs is to transport their cargo from one cell to another, helping regulate physiological processes such as immune response, inflammation, tissue repair, and cellular regeneration.

It is the ability of these exosomes to regulate inflammation, repair tissue and regenerate cells that has made them invaluable in the field of orthopaedics. In particular, an ever-growing body of research is pointing to regenerative medicine as a reliable, non-surgical solution for mild-to-moderate cases of joint osteoarthritis. Even in cases where surgical intervention is necessary, exosomes can aid in the healing process.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been a therapeutic tool in the field of regenerative medicine for many decades, concentrating the platelets and growth factors for cellular and tissue repair. However, because of the lack of standardization and consistency, PRP results can be variable and unpredictable.

Biotechnology company ZEO Scientifix™ has introduced Patient Pure X™ (PPX™) — a highly-concentrated autologous product that contains billions of bioactive proteins and growth factors extracted from your own blood that can help your body’s natural ability to decrease cellular inflammation and promote tissue healing.

ZEO Scientifix uses proprietary methods to create PPX™. Your blood is collected at our clinical office and then transferred to ZEO Scientifix’s FDA-registered, cGMP-compliant, sterile laboratory. There it is spun in an ultra-high-speed centrifugation process which concentrates an average of 400 billion nanoparticles (EVs) per dose. The concentrate is tested for microbial and viral contamination before it is released and shipped back to our office in two 1mL vials.

Your concentrated plasma, rich in bioactive proteins and miRNA markers, is now ready for injection into your deteriorating joint. This is a simple and easy process to obtain a completely natural and therapeutic solution which, unlike PRP, provides a completely acellular treatment. It focuses on damaged areas requiring healing, helps reduce inflammation, and supports cellular health and tissue recovery.
